New Year or New Life?

Every New Year we all make a New Year's resolution like I'm not going to eat all the cookies in one day, and on Jan 2 they are all gone. Or we say I'm going to run once a week and you go for a run,to your mailbox. ( Those were my New Years resolutions a few years ago and that what happened to me :P).
We should really think about what we are going to try to do for the whole year. Now we make them seem so little when they are really hard for us to do. So why don't we try to make to make it big and really important? Something like helping your neighbor who is having a hard time. Or trying to be nice to the person who you cannot stand.( Because every time I've done this, they've always been some of the coolest people I ever met.)  WHY don't we try somethings like these? Why does it have to benefit just us? Why are we the center of our own attention? There are more people outside of your little bubble.
No need to be an introvert ;)

And try not to be a scary extrovert ;P
What are we going to do that will make this year different then the rest? 2015 most of us are adults, and most of us are almost adults. Lets do something that will change our counties, if that's too big lets focus on the culdesac, and if that's to big focus on the homes. Do something that will change every one in some way or another, help them find the New Life that God gives. So lets let this year bring Glory to God. Lets be the "good and perfect gifts" that James was talking about in 1:17. (James 1:17 Every Good and Perfect gift is from above.)

Q: So what is going to be your New Years Resolution?
Will it be something that is important, or will help benefit others in any way?

And for the final challenge of this year I want you guys to think about what you can do and find a way to do it.

Are You Naughty Or Nice? (included Bible Christmas story)

Naughty and Nice its a known fact that you have to be nice to get a Christmas Present. Santa comes down the chimney leaves presents and eats the cookies and leaves.
But as the Christmas season comes upon us we need to remember the Present that God gave us.

  Luke 1:26-38

26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

   Luke 2:1-20
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Matthew 2
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.
19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.
21 And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
22 But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:
23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

The Lord himself came for us while we were Naughty  Herod Proved it! Now think about that.................. God came when we were Naughty. Now for a person that loves Christmas it amazes me even more that God loved us enough to come and He gave us His greatest gift, His son! This story has always been one of my favorites because God gave a gift that we all can use. Would you want to give your favorite thing to a person you really dislike? Would you do it? I don't think I would....... and I'm not saying you should give your favorite possession to the person you dislike but I just want you to think about it. Isn't it crazy! God gave us His son, Only Son might I add and He gave it to sinners! The people who have failed Him,disobeyed Him, and lets face it we have all failed Him in one way or another. But God gave us this gift, the one that brings life, through,a life. Because He Loves You.
And Through this we were declared NICE!! Jesus came here as a baby and grew up among (naughty) sinners. To die for us so that we could be declared nice! This is really cool to me and I hope for you guys too.
Thank God for the great gift He gave us this Christmas Season, because that gift ,is the main reason for this season.

So Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls from my Family to Yours Merry Christmas (and Happy New Year) to all and to all a good night.

The Kings Journey ( a parody to "Twas the Night Before Christmas")

It was a week before Christmas and all throughout the house one thing was stirring and it wasn't the mouse.

But a  teenage boy who was quite parched.
Looking for some water to find but ends up quite confused

For Instead he finds a book where the water should be.

The boy looked at the book and saw the story of a of a King's birth.

And the boy was rather shocked with what he was seeing.
He sees an Angel, telling a Virgin she will give birth to the King.
And the woman was not scared of the tall, Angelic being.

She went to tell her cousin who was also with child,
that when she heard virgin's voice the child was not mild.
The virgin had told her all that has happened and she smiled

When the virgin returned ,she told her ,so to be husband, that she was with child.
This man was shocked and thought to hide their wedding not to embarrass himself, but to protect the virgin and the soon to be child,

The boy thought this was wrong but kept watching to see what would happen, to the soon to be born child.

A voice from above came to the man in a dream telling him to marry the virgin, because the Child that she would give birth to would save the world from their sin.
And the man married the Virgin,
And stopped the wedding diversion

A few weeks later, a decree had been made the people where to go to their homes of their forefathers.
The man took his wife to the city of Bethlehem the town of David.
When they arrived the baby's ,dated, day had come.

In a Stable on that chilly night,
One bright star shone bright,
Along with the Angles singing that sounded so right.
Saying,"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

The Shepherds searched for the King, who was born in a manger.
And they soon found the small stranger,
and they left the little stranger, laying in a manger, in hopes of one day seeing Him later.

As weeks turned into months and months turned into years three kings came bringing gifts to the King of Kings.
Bringing Frankincense, Gold, and Myrrh to celebrate the Kings birth on earth.

And that is where the story ended for the boy, who had a smile on his face,
who was walking back to his room at quite a slow pace.
For he was thinking of what he had just seen, in the dark place
it was the beginning of the Kings Journey, a story that gave him hope and reminded him of God's grace.

Hey readers hope you enjoyed my little story,
and hope you all have an amazing Christmas.

Digging Up Christmas

Hello Citizens of Internet Land! I'm Back! Sorry for my Idleness, I have been neglecting this Blog for too long. But I am now going to address a subject that many have on they're minds right now...Christmas! most people are thinking about what to do about the snow, what to get for people, what to ask for, when to get good deals at the store, when to get a tree, how to decorate, which family members to see, and on and on and on. I am worrying about none of that.
When I was in Germany It was easy to get caught up in the season of Christmas Markets and Friends and Cookies. I often was so into all the little things that come with the season the I altogether forgot what it was all about. I celebrated advent but didn't take time to read the accounts of Jesus' Birth personally and thank him sincerely for what he did. The last year I spent in Germany I never even felt that warm fuzzy feeling you get from listening to Christmas music in the car or even the excitement of waking up on Christmas morn itself. I simply went through the motions.
Alas this year I shall not get carried away in the traditions and routines of this season. Rather, I have made a decision before December even came to put my focus on, and acknowledge the Lord for his sacrifice by coming to us as a baby, and dig up the meaning and passion of Christmas much like you would dig up decorations from your attic. I hope as well that you would all do the same. Merry Christmas Folks!
