I know it's been awhile since I have blogged on this fantastic page, what with moving and all. So, I am here to rectify that. As I begin my journey back to the States in a week, I just wanted to reflect on the past 3 and half years. It has been a journey. An amazing journey.
1. I will always remember that excited, but slightly apprehensive, feeling of moving to Germany. Excited for the obvious reasons, one of them being in the middle of history itself. And then the apprehensive feeling of being overseas. Far from my homeland.
2. The food. Man, do the Germans know how to eat. From schnitzel to pizza, and from the bratwurst to the amazing gilatos.
3. The culture that surrounds this place. For instance, when you come to eat at dinner, it is a time to sit down and fellowship together, and to enjoy the delicious spread before you. It easily takes about two and a half hours to eat dinner at a German restaurant.
4. The friends I have made. They have been amazing blessings, and they have helped me grow in many areas. I will not forget any of them! I am immensely grateful for every one of them.
5. The traveling. It has been a blast going on road trips with my family. We have journeyed all over the continent of Europe together, and have made numerous memories.
6. A gathering of teens called "FAB Friday." It was a time where we would gather every Friday night to enjoy food, fellowship, and fun! But more importantly, we were able to dig into the Word of the Lord, and grow from what we learned.
7. The castles. By George, there are castles on almost every hillside. I will definitely miss exploring these old ruins around here.
8. The beauty of Bavaria. My family and I were blessed to be in one of the most beautiful places in Germany. One of the sixteen states of Germany, it (in my opinion) is the most fantastic. It's rolling hills and forests will always have a place in my heart.
9. My family. I could not imagine where I would be without them.
10. Every experience. Every fall. Every laugh. Every tear. Every smile. All of it. It has been an amazing time. The Lord knew what He was doing the day He sent us to Germany!
*Note, that these are in no particular order.
